Raptors Sign G League Standout Off OKC's Roster
The Toronto Raptors have filled their final roster spot.
Jahmi’us Ramsey will reportedly join the organization on a 10-day contract, per Shams Charania. He puts Toronto back at 15 roster spots after a flurry of transactions over the past 24 hours.
The 22-year-old Ramsey was a second-round pick for the Sacramento Kings in 2020 and has spent this season with the Oklahoma City Blues where he’s appeared in 30 games for the Thunder’s G League affiliate.
A 6-foot-3 guard, Ramsey is averaging 20.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53.1% from the floor and 40.6% from three-point range on nearly five three-point attempts per game.
Ramsey played in 32 NBA games with the Kings between the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons but never quite found a groove at the NBA level. He averaged just 3.1 points while shooting 27% from three-point range.
His development in the G League has made him a more interesting prospect if his three-point shooting continues at the highest level.
Toronto had previously signed Justise Winslow, Mouhamadou Gueye, and DJ Carton to 10-day contracts. Gueye and Carton were both promoted to two-way deals with the Raptors.
Ramsey will be eligible for one more 10-day contract with Toronto following this deal before the Raptors would have to sign him for the remainder of the season.
Toronto had previously waived Markquis Nowell from his two-way contract earlier Monday to make room for Gueye.
Ramsey will likely be available off the bench for Toronto on Tuesday when the Raptors take on the New Orleans Pelicans.
