Maybe the Toronto Raptors shouldn’t be so worried about dipping into the luxury tax when their competitive window up opens again.

The organization has reportedly been valued at $4.11 billion (USD), making it the 48th most valuable sports team in the world, according to Sportico. The Raptors are said to earn $347 million in annual revenue and have seen the value of the franchise grow by 23% over the past year.

The Raptors are the most valuable sports franchise in Toronto, well ahead of both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. The Maple Leafs have been valued at $2.65 billion with a revenue of $327 million while the Blue Jays sit at $1.97 billion, pulling in $335 billion in annual revenue.

The Raptors are the ninth most valuable NBA franchise, trailing the Philadelphia 76ers at $4.13 billion and just ahead of the Houston Rockets at $4.05 billion. The Golden State Warriors are considered the league’s most valuable franchise with a valuation of $8.28 billion. Conversely, the New Orleans Pelicans sit at $2.72 value as the least valuable franchise in the league.

Only the Dallas Cowboys are valued at a higher price than the Warriors, sitting at a startling $9.2 billion in estimated value, the most of any sports team in the world.

The Maple Leafs are considered the NHL’s most valuable franchise, worth roughly the same as Mercedes’ Formula 1 team as well as the Houston Rockets.

The Raptors have only paid into the luxury tax once in the last 20 years, eclipsing the tax threshold in the 2018-19 season en route to the organization’s first NBA championship.
