Raptors Share Update on RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley's Status vs Pistons
The Toronto Raptors will be a tad shorthanded Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons.
None of OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, or Malachi Flynn will be available, of course, as the trio has officially been dealt to the New York Knicks. That said, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, the pair Toronto acquired in the deal, will not be available, the Raptors coach Darko Rajaković told reporters.
It’s unclear exactly when Quickley and Barrett will make their debuts for Toronto, but the Raptors will return home for Monday and it’s possible the two make it north for that game.
Toronto will likely move Dennis Schröder back into the starting lineup against Detroit, though that has yet to be confirmed. It’s unclear who Toronto’s starting lineup will be moving forward once everyone is able to play.
Barrett has been a starter for the Knicks and will likely start for the Raptors once he’s ready to go. Quickley’s spot is less certain as he’s been a sixth man for the Knicks and may return to that spot in Toronto. He’ll likely be vying with Gary Trent Jr. for Toronto’s guard spot alongside Scottie Barnes.
The Pistons will be without Monte Morris and Isaiah Stewart on Saturday night.
Toronto is otherwise fully healthy in the rotation with Christian Koloko and Garrett Temple the only injured players.
Detroit is looking to snap a 28-game losing streak. A loss to Toronto would set the NBA record for most consecutive losses by a team.
Toronto is a -3.5 point favorite. That line has moved toward Detroit since the trade was made official.
