Key Starters Expected to Return for Raptors vs. Lakers
The Toronto Raptors are finally getting their roster back.
Both Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett are set to return Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers and will be listed as probable to play, the Raptors told reporters at practice Monday.
Barrett had been listed as questionable for Sunday's game before being ruled out as he continued to work his way back into game shape. He's missed nine straight games following the death of his younger brother Nathan last month.
Quickley has been away from the team for a personal reason and has missed six straight games.
Their absences have left Toronto bereft of talent and have contributed to the 13-game losing streak the Raptors are currently mired in.
Ochai Agbaji will continue to be sidelined, though, as he continues to battle a right hip contusion he suffered during a scary fall last week against the New York Knicks.
Quickley and Barrett will slide back into the starting lineup for Toronto, likely with Gradey Dick, Kelly Olynyk, and Gary Trent Jr. by their side. That'll give Toronto more offensive firepower as the organization looks to finish the season strong.
The Raptors don't have a ton of breathing room when it comes to the reverse standings, though. They sit just a game up on the Memphis Grizzlies for the sixth-worst record in the league. Toronto needs to remain there to have a 46% shot at keeping its first-round pick this year. Should the Raptors fall to No. 7 in the reverse standings, those odds would tumble to just 31.9%.
Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, Chris Boucher, DJ Carton, and Jontay Porter all remain out as well.
