Houston Rockets wing and free agent acquisition Dillon Brooks loves the energy his teammates have brought to training camp.

"I love it," Brooks said. "I love the energy that everyone's bringing. Everyone's getting better each and every day and my piece to them is just get 1 percent better every day. Bring what you learn from in the training camp to off the court. Think about it more and more and more each and every day. Obsess about it."

Brooks signed a four-year, $86 million contract with the Rockets in July as a part of a sign-and-trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

He spent the first six seasons of his career with the Grizzlies, averaging 14.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in addition to 0.9 steals. For his career, he shoots 41.6 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from deep.

Houston's training camp is held in Lake Charles, La. at McNeese State University and offers a chance for the players to practice and bond away from where they will spend the majority of the season.

Along with Brooks, the Rockets made a big splash in free agency, signing guard Fred VanVleet to a three-year, $130 million contract with a team option for the third year.

They also added veterans Jock Landale, Jeff Green, Boban Marjanovic and most recently Reggie Bullock. There was a concerted effort to add veteran leadership to a young core that is headlined by Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Amen Thompson and Tari Eason.

Houston will play its first preseason game Tuesday against the Indiana Pacers inside the Toyota Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 P.M. C.T.
