HOUSTON — General manager Rafael Stone was direct when declaring that coach Ime Udoka would have full control of his staff at the helm of the Houston Rockets.

Monday afternoon, Udoka announced his coaching staff for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Joining Udoka on the sidelines in Houston are Cam Hodges, Royal Ivey, Garrett Jackson, Mike Moser, Tiago Splitter and Ben Sullivan.

Udoka and Sullivan worked together under Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs. He joined Udoka's staff with the Boston Celtics after spending four seasons with Mike Budenholzer and the Milwaukee Bucks. Ivey was the first assistant Udoka added to his staff in May after three seasons on the Brooklyn Nets' staff.

Jackson spent the past two seasons as a player enhancement coach with the Celtics. He began his career as an intern with the Spurs video department.

Splitter spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach with the Nets and worked alongside Udoka during the 2020-21 campaign.

Hodges was a coaching associate for the Los Angeles Clippers for the past three seasons. He served as a player development coach for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019-20 when Udoka was an assistant under Doc Rivers.

Moser was a player enhancement coach for Boston last season after serving as an assistant coach for the Oregon Ducks women’s team during the 2021-22 college basketball season.

Udoka took over as the 16th coach in franchise history following the departure of Stephen Silas. Stone said he would "encourage" the next head coach to look at Silas' previous staff for potential holdovers. But two months into his tenure, Udoka decided not to keep anyone from Silas' staff.
