Houston Rockets LISTEN: Dillon Brooks Gets Revenge in Big Win vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Dillon Brooks had his best game with the Houston Rockets in a win against his former Memphis Grizzlies team.
In this story:

The Houston Rockets are winners of five straight games after beating the Memphis Grizzlies 103-96 on Friday night at FedEx Forum.

The win was special for the Rockets, but it was the most significant for Dillon Brooks, who spent his first six seasons in the NBA with the Grizzlies.

In the latest episode of the "Kiss of Death Podcast," I recapped the Rockets' win against the Grizzlies and discussed Brooks' impact in the game and how he has turned the team around.

Brooks scored a season-high 26 points in the win against the Grizzlies, with 24 of those points coming in the second half. He is averaging 13.8 points per game this season, which is a couple notches down from his numbers in Memphis, but his 3-point percentage is at a career-best with 38.8 percent.

Brooks has also been a major catalyst towards the defense improving. The Rockets have surrendered 106 points or fewer in each of the team's wins on the current five-game win streak and Houston ranks second in the NBA in defensive rating. Only the Minnesota Timberwolves have a better mark.

'They Made a Mistake': Rockets' Dillon Brooks Gets Revenge

If Brooks can bring the trademark intensity on the defensive end of the floor and continue shooting well from 3-point land, the Rockets could be in line for their first playoff appearance since the James Harden era.

Brooks and the Rockets have a quick turnaround for their next game, where they will take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Tipoff is scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m. CT.
