NBA Power Rankings: Where Are Rockets After 9-Game Win Streak?

The Houston Rockets have won nine games in a row. Where does that put them in this week's power rankings?

The Houston Rockets continue to fight as they have won nine games in a row to get back over .500 for the first time in over two months.

Despite having a 36-35 record, they are still outside of the Play-In Tournament, but only 0.5 game separates them from the 10th-seeded Golden State Warriors.

The win streak has also caused a slight jump in CBS Sports' latest power rankings. The Rockets are now No. 17 instead of No. 19.

"Well, well, well, look who's back over .500 for the first time since January and just a half-game out of the final Play-In Tournament spot," CBS Sports writes. "It's been a tremendous run from the Rockets, who have won nine straight games and put copious amounts of pressure on the Warriors, current holders of the No. 10 spot. During the streak, Houston has scored 123 points per 100 possessions with a plus-14 net rating. Jalen Green has continued his offensive assault since Alperen Sengun's injury, averaging 34 points this week on 51/46/82 shooting splits. This is fun."

Houston's wins up until this point will mean nothing if the team is unable to continue winning down the stretch. With 11 games to go, the Rockets need to likely win seven or eight games to ensure that they clinch a spot in the Play-In Tournament.

The Rockets hope to continue their streak when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow. The team then heads out west to face the Utah Jazz on Friday before returning home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.
