Rockets Taking 'Next Leap,' Says Jae'Sean Tate

The Houston Rockets are days away from the NBA Draft, which will officially kickstart their all-important offseason.

Whether the Rockets take a rookie with the No. 4 pick or not, Houston should be making a big move in the draft. Then, with the most cap space in the entire league, the Rockets are bound to add a piece or two to help improve the young core currently on the roster.

All of the impending moves makes fourth-year forward Jae'Sean Tate excited about what's to come for the Rockets.

“I think we have an opportunity to take that next leap next season," Tate said via HoopsHype. "I feel like the talent that we have is top to none. You put it up against any team in the league through all the roster spots. I think that we’re a very talented group. We’re just missing a few pieces, and it’ll be fun. Who doesn’t want to be part of something that hasn’t been done? There are a lot of new faces and a new culture. That should be exciting enough for somebody to come here and be a part of it.”

The first official domino to fall during the offseason was the hiring of Ime Udoka back in April. With Udoka's successful pedigree, the Rockets have reason to believe they will be better than the 22-win performance they put on in the final year of the Stephen Silas era.

Udoka has connections around the league, which has linked the Rockets to numerous free agents that have played under him before, including James Harden and Kyrie Irving. But Houston's cap space and flexibility to make a wide range of moves has the Rockets in position to skyrocket up the standings ... if things go well.

There's reason as to why Tate is hyped, now the Rockets need to put potential into action.
