Houston Rockets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: 3 Best Bets

After winning 11 straight games, the Houston Rockets fell to the Dallas Mavericks, ending an improbable run. However, the Rockets can still catch up with the Golden State Warriors for the final spot in the Play-In Tournament. Every game counts, and Houston will have a tough matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Wolves are only a game back from first place in the West and are staying afloat despite the injury to Karl-Anthony Towns. Both Houston and Minnesota have very real things to play for tonight, so expect Houston to return to the strategies that brought them success on the shoulders of Jalen Green.

Houston will be without Tari Eason, Steven Adams, and Alperen Sengun. Minnesota won't play Towns or Jaylen Clark.

The Lines

Point spread: Wolves -7.5 (-110)/Rockets +7.5 (-118)

Money line: n/a

Over/under: 214.5

Our Picks

Redemption pick: Jalen Green OVER 24.5 points (-110)

Jalen Green averaged 30.2 points during the win streak and was looking like one of the best players in the NBA. He dropped a 12-point dud against Dallas in the most recent game, but if he can bounce back, make multiple threes, and score plenty of points, expect the Rockets to start another streak. If he can't, expect the end of this season to be written off as a fluke.

Opponent pick: Anthony Edwards OVER26.5 points (-133)

Ever since Towns went down with injury, Edwards has put the offense on his shoulders. Averaging 25 points (albeit on poor shooting) over the last ten games, his 28-point average against the Rockets this season doesn't bode well, especially against a porous backcourt.

Team pick: OVER 214.5 points (-110)

If both Green and Edwards are poised for a big game, expect the final score to be high. Maybe each team won't post 125 points, but with a line this low and the Rockets (hopefully) still hot, there's no reason to bet against the offense after just one loss.
