Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks Preview: How to Watch, Injury Reports, Lineups, More
HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets (38-35) will attempt to extend their win streak to 12 Sunday night against the Dallas Mavericks (44-29), who are currently sitting at No. 6 in the Western Conference. The Rockets are returning to the Toyota Center as the league's hottest team. In addition to their win streak, Houston has notched a league-best record of 12-1 since March 1.
The Rockets extended their winning streak Friday night in a 101-100 victory against the Utah Jazz. Jalen Green led the Rockets in scoring with 34 points. His production against the Jazz was a sample size of his exceptional play amid Houston's ongoing push toward the Play-In Tournament.
He struggled during the first half against the Jazz. But during the third quarter, Green scored 20 points to help the Rockets complete their comeback victory.
"In the first half, I was getting my shots, but they were not falling," Green said. "I just had to continue to stay aggressive. Coach [Ime Udoka] came out running plays for me at the beginning of the third quarter. I just started to take what the defense was giving me, and my shots were falling."
The Rockets are one game back of the Golden State Warriors for the 10th and final spot for the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. The Warriors won their third consecutive game in a blowout victory against the Charlotte Hornets prior to Houston's win in Utah.
