Houston Rockets vs. Denver Nuggets Preview: How to Watch, Lineups, Injury Report, More
HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets (5-3) will close their six-game homestand Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets (8-1). Both teams are riding a winning streak entering the Toyota Center.
After starting the season 0-3, the Rockets have won five consecutive games, their longest streak since the 2020-21 season where they won seven. But in order to extend their winning streak, coach Ime Udoka understands that containing two-time MVP Nikola Jokić is the top objective.
"It's somewhat pick your poison," Udoka said. "Teams try to go after him and take it out of his hands and he's really good obviously picking the gym apart and getting guys involved. Or you go one one-on-one with him and let him score and kind of keep everybody else locked down.
"We'll guard him but also feel free to make plays and just try to keep him off balance. Do not give him a steady rhythm of anything."
The Nuggets have won four consecutive games after defeating the Golden State Warriors Wednesday night. Jokić finished with 35 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals in the win.
