MEMPHIS — According to coach Taylor Jenkins, the Memphis Grizzlies anticipate All-Star point guard Ja Morant to be back Wednesday night against the Houston Rockets. Morant served an eight-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the NBA.

He spent a few days in a Florida counseling facility in the wake of flashing a handgun on social media from a strip club in Denver on March 4. Morant participated in his first practice with the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

"It's been a lot of learning," Morant said. "It's an ongoing process, a continuous process for me. I've been there for two weeks, but that doesn't mean I'm completely better. So that's an ongoing process for me that I've still been continuing since I've come out."

The Grizzlies posted a 6-2 record while Morant was away from the team. Ahead of his return, Morant told teammates he is willing to come off the bench given Memphis' success, per ESPN.

The Rockets are currently trailing Memphis 0-2 in their four-game regular season series. Morant has appeared in each game, where he is averaging 34.5 points on 57.7 percent shooting from the field, 7.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds.

He scored a season-high 49 points in the Grizzlies' seven-point victory over the Rockets on Oct. 21 inside the Toyota Center.
