The Houston Rockets will begin a three-game homestand Saturday night against the Utah Jazz. The Rockets are returning to the Toyota Center after a disappointing six-game road trip. They finished 1-5 and are two games under .500 for the first time since losing three straight games to open the 2023-24 season.

Houston's lone victory came during a win over the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 12. But despite holding the league's worst record, the Rockets barely defeated the Pistons in a 112-110 victory inside the Little Caesars Arena.

Fred VanVleet scored 12 of his 20 points during the fourth quarter. He also added 12 assists, two blocks and a pair of steals in the win.

"His veteran leadership and ability to take over down the stretch won us the game," coach Ime Udoka said. "But in general, it was not our best effort. We were soft and they were out hustling us. Fred got hot when he needed to, but credit to the other guys."

The Jazz are coming into Houston as one of the hottest teams in the league. They have won eight of their last nine games, which included an eight-game win streak before falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder Thunder night.
