Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun could make his first All-Star team this year, but he has the potential for longterm success.
In this story:

Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun is catching the attention from many across the league.

Sengun has played some of his best basketball this season for the Rockets and many believe he could make the All-Star team. But former NBA guard JJ Redick believes that's just the tip of the iceberg for Sengun, someone who could be a generational talent at the center spot.

"I feel like this is a guy who's going to make 8-9 All-Star games, multiple All-NBA teams," Redick said on his podcast. "If the Rockets build this thing right, [he'll] be in the conversation for at least top 5-6 for MVP - I believe this guy is that good."

Sengun has certainly earned that kind of praise this season. The 21-year-old is averaging 21.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game for the Rockets this season, helping them catapult outside of the doldrums of the Western Conference standings.

The fact that he's already playing at an All-Star level in his early 20s provides a sneak preview into what's to come. While there's no guarantee for anything in the future, he's certainly got the looks of a player who could be among the league's best for a long time.
