NBA Mock Draft: Scoot Henderson to Rockets?
When it was announced that the Houston Rockets would have the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, it appeared that they were out of the Scoot Henderson sweepstakes.
However, with the rise of Brandon Miller and Amen Thompson, there's a chance Henderson could join the Rockets after all. At least, that's what USA Today thinks.
In its latest mock draft, USA Today suggests that Henderson will be the No. 4 overall pick by the Rockets.
"Henderson would provide tremendous athleticism in the backcourt alongside Jalen Green, who also took the G League path to the NBA," USA Today writes. "Houston likely owes its 2024 pick to Oklahoma City, so with an incentive to win next season, drafting such a talented player would be a tremendous fit."
If Henderson is on the board with the No. 4 pick, it would be really hard to see the Rockets not take him. Houston needs a point guard and Henderson is the best one in the class. Taking Henderson may make the decision to sign James Harden in free agency a little more difficult, but Houston should prioritize drafting a long-term solution over short-term success.
