NBA Power Rankings: Houston Rockets Falling After Losing Streak?

The Houston Rockets have lost three consecutive games. Where does that put them in this week's power rankings?
In this story:

The Houston Rockets are back under .500 in the standings after losing three straight games this past week to the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers.

All nine of the Rockets' losses this season have come on the road and they remain the only team in the league that has not won a game in somebody else's building this season.

Houston's road struggles has triggered a significant drop in CBS Sports' latest power rankings. After placing in the top 10 last week at No. 9, the team is now at No. 22, which is a league-worst 13-spot drop.

"So, the whole road thing is starting to become a bit concerning, as the Rockets dropped three more games away from the friendly confines this week to the Mavericks, Nuggets and Lakers," CBS Sports writes. "The normally stout defense was especially porous, allowing over 125 points per 100 possessions. Alperen Sengun led the team with 25 points and 10 rebounds per game."

There's hope that the Rockets can turn the ship around when it comes to winning on the road, but it likely won't come this week.

With the In-Season Tournament coming to an end and the Rockets already eliminated, the team has just two games coming up this week. On Wednesday night, the team hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder at Toyota Center. Then on Friday, the team travels to the Mile High City to face the defending champion Nuggets on the road for the second time in as many weeks.
