The Houston Rockets are returning to their losing ways on their current six-game skid.

After taking a step forward by winning a season-high three straight games, the Rockets appear to have taken two steps back.

That's apparent in this week's power rankings from Sports Illustrated, where the Rockets slot in at No. 28, one spot lower than last week's edition.

"Houston tacked on four more losses to its season tally last week against a difficult schedule," SI writes. "The Rockets lost to the Warriors by 13 at home and then hit the road to begin a five-game trip. First came a five-point loss in Memphis, and the Grizzlies won by 37 when the teams met again two days later. Next up was a 17-point loss to the Cavaliers, their fifth in a row. The highlight of the week for Houston was the play of rookie Tari Eason, who had 21 points and 12 rebounds in the Golden State game, and went for 21 again against Memphis."

The Rockets' road trip ends Wednesday when the team faces the Brooklyn Nets. Then, Houston hosts its final homestand of the season, beginning with a visit from the Detroit Pistons on Friday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
