Sixers' James Harden: 'Daryl Morey's A Liar!' Rockets Reunion Reveal in Philly
Two of the NBA's most prominent names - both with their Houston Rockets history - are in the news as the James Harden situation in Philadelphia is turning even more sour.
“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of," Harden said when a fan, during an adidas press event in China, asked about Sixers trade talks. "Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of."
The 76ers president of basketball operations is Morey, the former Rockets GM. Harden is their disgruntled star, sparked here by a question about Philly leaking info that they've ended trade talks and have decided to retain Harden.
Is it shocking to hear Harden speak this candidly about his boss? Not if you know Harden - as Rockets fans do.
There were once reports of the Rockets wishing for a reunion here. That fizzled. There have been numerous reports by multiple outlets about Harden wanting to engineer his way to being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers ... which is likely the origin of this latest "liar'' accusation.
The Sixers, even with James Harden teaming up with Joel Embiid, have not been able to get over the championship hump, and Embiid has also made noises about wanting change.
But nobody makes noise quite like James Harden makes noise ... and he has again exhibited here.
