WATCH: Rockets' Jalen Green Throws Down Massive Poster Dunk on Blazers' Anfernee Simons
Electricity was in the air as the Houston Rockets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 123-107 on Friday night at Moda Center. Third-year guard Jalen Green led the way for Houston, putting up 27 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 11-19 from the field and 4-9 from deep.
With a little more than nine minutes remaining in the third quarter, Green dropped the jaws of basketball fans everywhere when he threw down a massive poster dunk over Blazers' Anfernee Simons in transition.
Through 63 games, Green is averaging 18.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from deep. Over his last five games, though, he's taken things up a notch by averaging 26.6 points while shooting 46.7 percent overall and 37.0 percent from deep.
After losing a close game to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, the Rockets bounced back in a big way in Portland, and they've now captured some momentum by winning three of their last four games.
Jalen Green Leads Rockets to Second Consecutive Road Win Over Trail Blazers
Given that the Rockets are 5.5 games back of the Golden State Warriors for the final Play-In Tournament spot in the Western Conference, their postseason chances aren't looking great. However, if their improved play continues, making the playoffs isn't out of the question for Houston. We've certainly seen crazier things happen in the NBA.
