Woj: Trade Deadline Will Have 'Lots of Buyers'; Rockets Included?

"There will be trades. There will be sellers," NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski wrote on Threads. "But the asking price is going to be high from the really bad teams to move off assets--so that slows down the marketplace a little."

The Houston Rockets are just six weeks away from the NBA Trade Deadline, and for the first time in a few years, the team isn't towards the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

The Rockets are in the middle of the pack, hoping to make a return to the postseason for the first time since 2020. Houston is one of several teams with a shot at the playoffs, and what happens at the trade deadline can dictate how the second half of the season goes and which teams will get a chance to qualify for the postseason.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski believes that the tight standings will force teams to become buyers at the deadline.

"There will be trades. There will be sellers," Wojnarowski wrote on Threads. "But the asking price is going to be high from the really bad teams to move off assets--so that slows down the marketplace a little."

The Rockets used to be in the seller's position as a team without a chance to make the playoffs. However, the tides have turned and Houston is on the other side of the coin this year.

Houston is in need of a backup center and point guard, which has made players like Washington Wizards veteran Tyus Jones and big man Daniel Gafford as potential trade targets.

The Rockets are back in action tomorrow night against the Philadelphia 76ers. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
