No. 2 Pick Brandon Miller Praises Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: 'He's Like an Animal'
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has had a number of comparisons and nicknames thrown his way since he was drafted a month ago.
But there may not be a better compliment or form of admiration than the ones you get from your peers.
No. 2 overall draft pick Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets called Wembanyama an "animal" after the Summer League wound down in Las Vegas. He meant that in the best of ways.
“Every ball screen they kept switching with big man so I’m like … couldn’t really explain what this is,” Miller said during his appearance on Podcast P with Paul George. “[I] think it’s big to big switch. Victor is, of course, not a big. [He’s] like an animal. Ain’t no position for him.”
Through sheer size and athleticism we are seeing things that are unprecedented from the Spurs top overall pick. Miller said he'd never seen a man that large shift as he does.
According to Miller, Wemby isn't really a "big" in the traditional sense. It's a confusing statement given the gigantic 7-4 frame he brings but the point is taken.
Perhaps the the Spurs should just list Wembanyama's position as ... Animal.
