Warriors Among Spurs' Opponents for In-Season Tournament: Details
The first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament is just a few months away, and the San Antonio Spurs, along with the other 29 teams, will all compete to win.
All 30 teams will be split into six groups of five based on a random draw, three teams in the West and three in the East. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Fridays in November and will count towards the regular season record.
After the four games in group play, two home and two road contests, the top team from each group, along with a wild card from the East and West will advance to knockout play.
Those who advance past the single-elimination knockout will play the semifinals and finals in Las Vegas, and a winner will be crowned on Dec. 9. Players on the winning team will win a considerable amount of prize money.
The Spurs are in Group C with the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Group A has the Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers.
Group B has the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.
Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs will face off against their group opponents this November.
