The San Antonio Spurs are back in the loss column after falling to the Golden State Warriors 117-113 on Sunday night at the Frost Bank Center. However, the loss didn't upset coach Gregg Popovich.

"We've been doing it for the last month or so," Popovich said. "Really started to click with the group. Their effort. Played for 48 minutes. They've figured that out and they just keep on pushing. It was a great night."

The Spurs gave the Warriors, who are fighting for the 10th and final spot in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament, a run for their money. A team that has only won a handful of games this season shouldn't be super competitive in games like this, but the Spurs defied the odds.

The Spurs have tried to play spoiler for contending teams throughout the second half of the year. On Friday, they spoiled the New York Knicks in an overtime victory and came very close to doing the same against the Warriors. The Spurs' goal for the final two weeks should be to compete as much as possible and try to shake some of these contending teams off their feet. If the Spurs can do that, they will have a lot of momentum going into the offseason in hopes of improving for next year.

The Spurs are back in action tomorrow night against Nikola Jokic and the defending champion Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
