Lakers Welcome Back LeBron James, Beat Spurs at Home

The San Antonio Spurs couldn't get it done against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The San Antonio Spurs are on the losing side of the coin once again after a 123-118 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena.

The Spurs came into the game with little rest after last night's loss to the Sacramento Kings, but it didn't seem to affect them much to start the game. The Spurs built a six-point lead in the early minutes. The Lakers retook the lead midway through the first quarter and never relinquished it. The Spurs, however, kept pace with the Lakers up until the fourth quarter.

A 19-8 run in the final frame gave the Lakers a bigger cushion down the stretch. The Spurs fought back throughout the rest of the quarter, but never made it a super competitive game.

Victor Wembanyama led all Spurs with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while LeBron James led all scorers with 30 after not playing last night against the Golden State Warriors.

The Spurs return to the floor on Sunday night when they take on the Utah Jazz. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT from Salt Lake City.
