The San Antonio Spurs are playing the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. Here's everything you need to know.

The San Antonio Spurs will look to end a franchise-worst 17-game losing streak when they host the Los Angeles Lakers at Frost Bank Center tonight. 

The Spurs (3-19) are coming off a woeful shooing performance in a 93-82 loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday. San Antonio shot 5 of 41 from 3-point range. 

The Lakers (14-10) march into the Alamo City fresh off of winning the inaugural In-Season Tournament before losing a tight 127-125 decision to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

Despite this being an away game, Lakers fans have shown out in San Antonio in large numbers throughout previous season, and it’s difficult to see that changing on Wednesday.

The rivalry has lacked flare recently due to the lack of crucial postseason battles like those seen between the Spurs and Lakers in five different series during the 2000s and once in 2013.

Still, the hype surrounding the “Victor Wembanyama vs. LeBron James” talk can’t be ignored, even if it’s getting blown out of proportion.

Wembanyama has often been called the “best draft prospect since LeBron.” While it’s likely a waste of time to try and compare the two, their first meeting against one another is certainly significant.

James continues to show no signs of slowing down, and comes into this game averaging a casual 25 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game.

Wemby heads into this game averaging 18.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and is currently tied for the league in blocks per game (2.8).
