NBA Betting Odds: Clippers PG Russell Westbrook to Spurs?

Russell Westbrook is looking for a new home in free agency. Could that be with the San Antonio Spurs?

The San Antonio Spurs have a lot of cap space going into free agency this summer, along with a potential opening at the team's starting point guard spot.

Someone that could fill that role is Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook, who is testing the free agent waters this offseason for the first time in his 15-year career.

Bookies.com created hypothetical odds for Westbrook's next team, and the Spurs were among the options at +1000, giving him a 9.1 percent chance to play his next NBA game for San Antonio.

Teams ranked ahead of the Spurs were the Clippers (+400), Orlando Magic (+450), Dallas Mavericks (+500), Chicago Bulls (+525) and Houston Rockets (+800).

While Westbrook might be in a position to be offered more money or playing time by the Spurs than other suitors, San Antonio doesn't provide a winning situation for Westbrook, one that he might prefer as he enters the twilight of his career.

This past season for the Lakers and Clippers, Westbrook averaged 15.9 points, his lowest total since his rookie season back in 2008-09. However, he was still able to average 7.5 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game throughout the season, a sign that he isn't throwing in the towel anytime soon.

The Spurs could use a point guard if Tre Jones signs elsewhere, but San Antonio might eye more of a developmental player than a veteran like Westbrook.
