The San Antonio Spurs hold the No. 1 pick in next week's NBA Draft, but don't be surprised if the team walks away with another first round pick at the end of next Thursday night.

The Spurs are reportedly working the phones trying to trade back into the first round.

"The Spurs are one of the most active teams in trade talks heading into the draft," sources told SpursTalk. "According to the league sources, the Spurs are telling teams their preference is to trade for another first round pick. If that’s unsuccessful, San Antonio has let it be known that they want to trade away at least one of their second round picks."

The Spurs also have picks No. 33 and 44 going into the draft, both of which could be dangled in trades that could help San Antonio move back into the first round. The team also acquired multiple future first-round picks in the Dejounte Murray deal. If the Spurs threw some protections on those picks, San Antonio could definitely use them in a deal that could help the team get prospects in the building this year.

Teams will be interested in trading down or out of the first round, and the Spurs could be an option for those situations if the deal makes sense for San Antonio.
