NBA Power Rankings: Spurs Dropping as Losing Streak Continues?

The San Antonio Spurs have lost four straight games. Where does that put them in this week's power rankings?
In this story:

The San Antonio Spurs are chugging along and hoping to finish the regular season on a high note.

However, the second half of the season so far hasn't gone the Spurs' way, losing three consecutive games since the All-Star Break.

The Spurs' losing ways have them dropping one spot in CBS Sports' power rankings. San Antonio now sits at No. 28 after landing at No. 27 last week.

"A 5x5 isn't just a "secret menu" In-N-Out order anymore," CBS Sports writes. "Against the Lakers, Victor Wembanyama became the youngest player to record at least five points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks in a single game -- he also did it in the fewest minutes of any player in NBA history. Running out of superlatives to describe this dude ... going to have to delve into my 10th grade French textbook."

Only the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards are beneath the Spurs in the power rankings.

San Antonio's goal for the rest of the season should be individual development and overall competitiveness. Instead of falling behind 20 in the first half like they did Sunday against the Utah Jazz, they should aim to force teams to earn the win against them.

'He's From Mars!' John Collins Praises Wembanyama

They'll have an opportunity to do so this week when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight before returning home after a month-long road trip to welcome the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday and the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
