The San Antonio Spurs flashed their potential this past week by grabbing two wins, including one against the Western Conference leader Minnesota Timberwolves.

The victories helped push the Spurs up to No. 27 in CBS Sports' latest power rankings, one spot ahead of the previous edition.

"San Antonio picked up two wins this week, beating the Blazers and notching a surprise victory over the Timberwolves," CBS Sports writes. "They also lost to the Thunder and Wizards, as Victor Wembanyama put up 23 points, 11 rebounds, 4.5 assists and three blocks in fewer than 30 minutes per game."

The Spurs could have made a bigger jump had they beaten the Washington Wizards on Monday, but they came up short.

Now, the Spurs are back in action tonight with the Orlando Magic in town. Then, the team hosts a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans and Cleveland Cavaliers before heading out on their rodeo road trip.
