Blazers vs. Spurs: 3 Best Bets
The San Antonio Spurs are looking to avoid a three-game losing streak as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight. Conversely, the Blazers are coming off an overtime win against the Houston Rockets, and have won three of their last five.
Earlier in the season, the Spurs and Blazers split two games, both in Portland. Tonight will be rookie Scoot Henderson’s first game in San Antonio. Henderson was selected third overall in the 2023 Draft and is supposed to be one of the best young point guards in the league.
The Spurs will be without Sidy Cissoko and Charles Bassey, while Tre Jones is questionable. Portland has a lengthier injury report, with Robert Williams III, Shaedon Sharpe, and Moses Brown out. Malcolm Brogdon is questionable.

Our picks
Safe pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 23.5 points (-120)
Not only did Victor Wembanyama score 30 points in his lone game against Portland this season, but he has surpassed this line in each of his last six games. Whenever Wembanyama goes up against another rookie, it seems to be personal. Portland allows the fourth-most points in the paint, so their rim protection is suspect at best, meaning Wembanyama will have no one to stop him.
Opponent pick: Anfernee Simons OVER 24.5 points (-120)
This line is slightly above his season average of 23 points per game, and Simons only averaged 23.4 points over his last five games. He is, however, a deadeye shooter–making 39 percent of his threes–which has given the Spurs fits all season. Even though he will have to play better than normal to hit this line, San Antonio’s defense continues to struggle.
NBA Trade Idea: Spurs Acquire Magic SG Gary Harris?
Team pick: Spurs -3.5 (-110)
If Brogdon doesn’t play, then this game shouldn’t be close. Both teams are coming off a day of rest, but in the split series earlier this season, the Spurs had a point differential of plus seven, so they have established themselves as the better team in head-to-head matchups. One of those games was without Wembanyama, so the Spurs weren’t even playing at the height of their powers. Tonight, with a healthy Wemby, the Spurs should keep a comfortable lead.
