The San Antonio Spurs remain in the loss column after a 109-99 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks on Monday afternoon inside State Farm Arena.

While the 10-point loss looks respectable, it doesn't reflect the nature of the game ... a wire-to-wire victory for the Hawks that saw them lead by as much as 35 points by halftime.

The loss puts the Spurs at 4-16 on the road for the season ... a bad omen as the team plays its next four games away from San Antonio.

It doesn't get easier when the Spurs return to action on Wednesday as they visit the NBA-best Boston Celtics at TD Garden. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
