Spurs Depth Chart Changes After Victor Wembanyama Draft, Free Agent Signings
The San Antonio Spurs look a little different than they did last season.
After taking a pair of rookies in the NBA Draft, including No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs' plans for the upcoming season looks a little different.
Here's a look at what the Spurs are working with ...
PG: Tre Jones, Devonte' Graham, Blake Wesley
Jones, who just signed a two-year deal worth $20 million, is expected to be the team's starting point guard this season. Meanwhile, Graham and Wesley are seen as the likely backups.
SG: Devin Vassell, Malaki Branham, Sidy Cissoko
Vassell slots in as the incumbent starting shooting guard so long as he is healthy. Branham should also get a decent amount of playing time after shining in his rookie season.
SF: Keldon Johnson, Cedi Osman, Doug McDermott
Johnson is the natural fit here to start, but McDermott and Cissoko should also see a decent amount of minutes throughout the year.
PF: Jeremy Sochan, Lamar Stevens, Julian Champagnie
Sochan is the obvious starter, but Stevens and Champagnie are positionless players that can slot in anywhere. This helps their chances of seeing the court more often.
C: Victor Wembanyama, Zach Collins, Sandro Mamukelashvili
Wembanyama is the undisputed starter, but it will be interesting to see what role Collins ends up playing. The Spurs really enjoy him, but they LOVE Wembanyama and his development.
There are still two-way spots to be solidified and a couple more roster spots to be vacated and filled, but this is a relative idea for what the Spurs will be dealing with going into the season.
