The San Antonio Spurs are once again putting the champagne on ice after losing to the Utah Jazz 118-102 Saturday night at Vivint Arena. The loss pushes the Spurs' franchise-worst losing streak to 16 games.

The Spurs started off the game strong, leading a 19-5 run out of the gates with 14 of those points coming from rookies Jeremy Sochan and Malaki Branham.

Sochan, who finished the game with a team-high 22 points, returned to the lineup after missing Thursday's game against the Dallas Mavericks with a quad injury.

Despite the fast start from the Spurs, the Jazz were able to chip away bit by bit. However, San Antonio held a 10-point lead when the two teams went to the locker room.

In the third quarter, the Jazz flipped the script completely, outscoring the Spurs 30-14 in the period and taking the lead for good.

Utah was led by All-Star starter Lauri Markkanen, who scored a game-high 27 points. The Jazz also got strong contributions from 10-day contract signee Kris Dunn, who dropped 15 points and eight assists. Rookie Ochai Agbaji also scored in double figures with 14 points.

The Spurs will get another crack at the Jazz when the two teams face off again on Tuesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
