The San Antonio Spurs were able to land arguably the greatest prospect in sports in Victor Wembanyama. This advances their rebuild by many years, as they've got a building block that has as high of expectations as LeBron James did heading into his rookie season.

With their building block on the roster, the Spurs have some decisions to make with free agency looming.

"But the Spurs could have a decent amount of cap space this offseason, and spending it on one or two experienced win-now players could also serve a long-term purpose," Bleacher Report writes. "Giving Wembanyama good examples of professionalism and a taste of winning could pay dividends down the road."

Playing with Metropolitans 92 in France, Wembanyama was able to lead his team, alongside Bilal Coulibaly, to their league's Finals series against Monaco. He's been able to grow and mature as a leader, and he's been preparing for his NBA days for years. Wembanyama will join the NBA with a certain level of maturity that a lot of 19-year-olds don't hold.

With this, the Spurs will benefit further from win-now players that bring either championship experience or a veteran role. Wembanyama has the playoff experience in France from leading his team, has the role models any young prospect would want in Tim Duncan and company and adding veterans to the roster would only further his development early on.

Though there's no telling which way the Spurs will lean when it comes to roster building, they've already got a solid young core with Wembanyama, Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell and more. An experiences guard would help raise this young team's ceiling.

Fred VanVleet may be on the move, and the Spurs can offer the one-time champion more than enough money. With championship experience, VanVleet would be able to run a solid two-man game with Wembanyama, space the floor out and provide a championship presence.

Wembanyama has also said he would like the to play the four, so, theoretically, the Spurs could bring in a center to have the two play alongside each other. One name that makes sense is Brook Lopez. He's an elite defender than can also stretch the floor out. Like VanVleet, Lopez tremendously raises the ceiling of this team and brings a championship experience himself.
