The San Antonio Spurs are frustrated after their 110-105 loss against the Denver Nuggets, but they are taking the good with the bad.

Victor Wembanyama was a clear standout for the Spurs against the Nuggets. The Western Conference Rookie of the Month for March scored 23 points with 15 rebounds, eight assists and nine blocks in the loss, but after the game, he seemed upbeat about the team's performance.

"It's a good fight," Wembanyama said postgame. "I think we showed some great efforts on both sides of the court. We had a good performance. It's details."

The Spurs have the right culture, fighting for games and staying competitive despite being well out of the playoff picture. They also have the franchise cornerstone that many teams have a hard time finding, and they have a really good one at that.

It's only going to be a matter of time before the Spurs come out on the winning end of a lot of these affairs. They did so last week against the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks, two playoff-bound teams, but in the coming years it will be about doing it on a more consistent basis.

The Spurs have another chance to play spoiler against a playoff team tomorrow night when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT from the Smoothie King Center.
