San Antonio Spurs fans may be in luck ... if they live in Austin, Texas.

In a surprising move made by the Spurs prior to the start of the regular season, the team announced it would be playing two home games in Austin's Moody Center during the 2022-23 season.

Not only that, but the Spurs are also set to host numerous events around the city, starting with rookie forward Jeremy Sochan, who took the social media to announce that he and The Coyote would be hosting a meet-and-greet for fans Monday.

Sochan's appearance is just one of the festivities planned around the two Austin home games, which the Spurs are calling the "I-35 Series".

Those matchups will feature superstar point guard Damian Lillard and the Portland Trailblazers, along with second-year forward Anthony Edwards' Minnesota Timberwolves, and were a part of a four-game "special" that saw San Antonio's own taking to different courts throughout the season.

The first came in Mexico City, when the Spurs faced off against the Miami Heat for their 29th game of the season, and the second came during the team's 50th Anniversary celebration, when San Antonio returned to its roots to face the Golden State Warriors in the Alamodome in January.

And though the games in Austin will not be the first ones to be played outside of the AT&T Center, they will be the first to feature fan-focused events in and around the city.

Fans will get a chance to meet players, win giveaways and even watch a game during the week before the Spurs take the floor in the Moody Center, as a part of the team's goal to “purposefully engage and celebrate the Spurs’ entire fan base, extending from Mexico to Austin.”

It seems that San Antonio accomplished that goal — the strongest showing of its fans coming during the game against the Warriors, when the fanbase helped break the NBA's all-time attendance record — and gave its fans a legacy to be proud of.

The only thing left for the Spurs to accomplish would be winning a game outside of their usual home court, which would only add to the celebration.

Games against the Blazers and Timberwolves will be April 6 and 8 at 6:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
