Spurs' Jeremy Sochan Reveals Reason Behind Win vs. Warriors

The Golden State Warriors couldn't figure out an answer to beat the San Antonio Spurs.

The San Antonio Spurs picked up a 126-113 upset victory over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night at the Chase Center despite playing without Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell.

While the Warriors played without Stephen Curry, the Spurs were still a big underdog. However, the team's hot start fueled the Spurs to a win.

“It was very important to bring the energy from the start, especially against a team, crowd, and environment like here, Golden State," Sochan said. "So it was super important being able to play together.”

The Spurs and Warriors played pretty tight in the first quarter, but the second quarter was where San Antonio made its move. With a 30-16 run in the second quarter, the Spurs built a 19-point lead, one they wouldn't give up in the second half.

Building energy on the road can be a challenge for young teams, especially when playing teams like the Warriors with a strong home court advantage. But the conquering of the Warriors on the road should give the Spurs confidence moving forward and make things a little easier when playing away from San Antonio in the future.

Injured Spurs Outlast Warriors Without Curry

The Spurs and Warriors play against each other once more tomorrow night, but this time it comes at the friendly confines of the Frost Bank Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
