BREAKING: San Antonio Spurs Ex Josh Primo Suspended by NBA
Former San Antonio Spurs guard Josh Primo has been suspended for four games by the NBA for "conduct detrimental," per reports Friday from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
"NBA probe found Primo 'engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women. Primo maintains that his conduct was not intentional, and the league did not find evidence that he engaged in any sexual or other misconduct apart from these brief exposures,'" Wojnarowski tweeted.
Per the report, Primo would serve the suspension once he signs with a new team.
Primo, 20, was shockingly waived by the Spurs on Oct. 28 of last season prior to an evening matchup with the Chicago Bulls. San Antonio selected Primo with the No. 12 overall pick the year prior in the 2021 NBA Draft.
However, it was later revealed that Primo had reportedly been inappropriately exposing himself to women, most notably Dr. Hillary Cauthen, a former psychologist for the organization. She filed a lawsuit against the Spurs and Primo, which was settled later that November.
In 54 games with the Spurs, Primo averaged 5.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 37.2 percent shooting in 19.6 minutes per game.
When the accusations surfaced, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made it clear how serious the Spurs organization viewed the matter.
“… Anybody that has observed the Spurs over a very long period of time knows that an accusation like this would be taken very seriously without any doubt whatsoever, no equivocation, the Spurs organization would be on top of it,” Popovich said.
The Spurs begin the 2023-24 season at home on Wednesday, Oct. 25 against the Dallas Mavericks.
