The San Antonio Spurs were up 84-55 with seven minutes left in the third quarter, but ended up on the losing end of a 126-120 defeat at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies.

For a young team like the Spurs, every game is a learning experience, and this game was no different according to coach Gregg Popovich.

"Great game. They learned a lot. To compete as hard as we did, I'm proud of them," Popovich said. "They did a good job. Memphis showed the experience, their talent and did a good job."

It's very easy to focus on the negatives when the team blows a 29-point lead, but Popovich also has insight on the fact that the Spurs were dominant throughout the first half of the game. He also finds solace in the fact that the team can grow in a different way by tasting the bitterness of blowing a lead that large.

With just 12 games to go in the regular season, wins and losses aren't the primary focus for the rebuilding Spurs. It's about finding windows of opportunity to showcase their growth they have had this season while also continuing to go through the growing pains of being a rebuilding squad.
