The San Antonio Spurs are recovering from a season with very little team success.

Finishing with just 22 wins, there wasn't a lot to celebrate in San Antonio this season on a team level, but a few individuals enjoyed some personal success.

Bleacher Report chose each team's MVP for the season and selected point guard Tre Jones for the Spurs.

"This selection might come as a bit of a surprise for a player who averaged 12.9 points, but Tre Jones' 6.6 assists per game led the Spurs," Bleacher Report writes. "And among players who appeared in at least 40 games, he was 11th in assist-to-turnover ratio.

"Perhaps most importantly, when the steady-handed floor general was on the floor, the Spurs had a point differential around that of a 23-win team, which sounds bad, until you see that they played more like a 13-win team without Jones."

Despite being named team MVP, Jones, a third-year pro, may not even be the team's starting point guard next season.

With the late-season success from rookie Malaki Branham, along with the franchise's pair of first-round picks in June, could come a replacement for Jones in the rotation for someone with slightly more upside.

That being said, whoever might come in to challenge Jones' spot in the rotation will have to go through the former Duke Blue Devil to fight for his minutes.
