The San Antonio Spurs are back on top after a 104-102 win against the Phoenix Suns on Monday night at the Frost Bank Center.

The Spurs played without Victor Wembanyama, who sat out of tonight's game with an ankle injury, but they were able to beat the Suns, who won by 25 in the last meeting on Saturday.

The Spurs had a eight-point lead with four minutes to play, but the Suns always found a way to keep the door open. A 9-0 run from the Suns gave them a lead going into the final moments.

The game came down to the final possessions, and with 29 seconds to go, Jeremy Sochan hit a go-ahead 3-pointer to put the Spurs up two. With Wembanyama out, Sochan led the way with 26 points and 18 rebounds to lead the team. However, the Spurs still needed to stop the Suns on their final possession.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker hoisted up decent looks from beyond the 3-point line to take the lead, but both couldn't find the bottom of the net. Booker led all scorers with 36 points while Durant added 29.

The Spurs' win gives them the season series victory over the Suns with three wins in four tries. The Spurs are 3-1 against the Suns and 13-55 against the rest of the league after tonight's game.

The Spurs are back in action on Wednesday when they face the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
