New San Antonio Spurs draft pick Sidy Cissoko grew up in France, but spent the past year with G League Ignite trying to prepare for the NBA.

After the season ended, Cissoko spent his pre-draft process training in Dallas, so he won't have to travel far for his first NBA home in San Antonio ... and it already feels like he's home.

"I was in Dallas ... but I don't like the Mavericks," Cissoko said. "Now I'm here with you guys, so let's enjoy the season."

The Spurs and Dallas Mavericks have a long, storied rivalry and Cissoko is embracing it.

When it comes to his game, Cissoko brings a level of talent that will likely fit with the youth-focused rebuilding model the Spurs are following as they look to get back to the top of the Western Conference.

Alongside No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama, Cissoko rounds out the Spurs' draft class and come in behind Tre Jones, Julian Champagnie and San Antonio's other talented guards, set to learn from them as he begins to make a name for himself in the NBA.

Cissoko will debut for the Silver & Black for the first time during the California Classic on July 3 in Sacramento.
