The San Antonio Spurs routinely dominated their opponents during the Big 3 era and the prime days of Kawhi Leonard.

Likely no team was on the wrong end of this success more than the Sacramento Kings, who are still searching for their first playoff appearance since 2006.

But when the Spurs visit the Kings on Thursday night at Golden 1 Center, they do so looking to end some recent struggles against a franchise they are 125-62 against all-time.

After the Spurs had won 23 of 25 meetings with Sacramento dating back to 2012 -- which included a 14-game winning streak -- the Kings have now turned the tables and gone 7-5 against the Spurs since Nov. 2018.

Things seem to be trending up for Sacramento headed into Thursday. They are coming off a 153-121 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, which featured becoming the first NBA team to reach the 150-point threshold in a game this season.

The win marked the fourth straight victory for the Kings and the fifth in the last six games. After an 0-4 start, Sacramento is now 7-6 and the current No. 8 seed in Western Conference. Only the Boston Celtics have a longer active winning streak (eight games) than the Kings do.

The Spurs are still looking for their first win on their current five-game West Coast road trip. And despite what history says, a Kings franchise normally seen as NBA bottom-feeders should give San Antonio yet another tough fight.

The Spurs and Kings tip-off at 9 p.m. CT.
