It's even more official now.

The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have signed No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama to his rookie contract.

In 34 regular season games with Metropolitans 92, Wemby averaged 21.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.0 blocks in 32.3 minutes. In 10 LNB Pro A playoff games, he averaged 17.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 2.7 assists per game.

According to Spotrac, Wembanyama signed a four-year, $55.1 million contract with Spurs, including $24.9 million guaranteed. The deal includes team options for the third and fourth years, which should be accepted if everything goes according to plan.

Now that Wembanyama is signed, the next step for him is to participate in summer league showcases with the team. Wembanyama won't play with the team in Sacramento at the California Classic on Monday and Wednesday, but he is expected to join the roster for the Las Vegas Summer League, which tips off for the Spurs on Friday.

It remains to be seen how much action, if any, Wembanyama will see in Las Vegas, considering his season with Metropolitans 92 just wrapped up in June. However, he will be around the team as he looks to ingratiate himself into the organization and NBA.
