Spurs Skid Continues in Loss vs. Nets

The San Antonio Spurs have lost another game, this time at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets.

The San Antonio Spurs remain in the loss column after a 123-103 defeat at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday evening inside the Barclays Center.

While the Spurs kept things close in the first quarter, the Nets started to run away in the second, allowing them to take a double-digit lead into the locker rooms.

The Spurs were able to cut the deficit to as little as six points in the third quarter, but that was as close as they got. By the end of the frame, the Nets were back up 18 and were able to cruise to the finish line.

No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama led all Spurs in scoring with 21 points while Devin Vassell dropped 17 and Keldon Johnson added 19 off the bench.

For the Nets, Cam Thomas led all scorers with 25 while Dennis Schroder recorded a 15-point, 12-assist double-double in his debut with the team. Schroder was traded by the Raptors to the Nets ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

With the loss, the Spurs have now dropped seven in a row and things don't appear to be looking up any time soon. San Antonio returns to the floor on Monday against Toronto. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
