SAN ANTONIO — It's official. Victor Wembanyama can partake in any champagne locker room celebrations legally from here on out.

The San Antonio Spurs star is celebrating his 21st birthday birthday on Saturday at Frost Bank Center for the second straight year. Last year, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks came to town, and this year, it's Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets.

Friday evening, the Spurs notched a win over Denver in Game 1 of a two-game series taking place at both arenas over the span of two days, so momentum is on the line Saturday evening.

But while he's 21 — legal in America — Wembanyama grew up in France where the legal drinking age is 18, so perhaps it's not nearly as big of a deal as it could be. Beside, the center doesn't prefer to drink anyway.

That might not stop some champagne to show up in the locker room, however. Especially if the Spurs can make it two straight over the Nuggets.

Now, onto the headlines.
