The San Antonio Spurs are the new home for Reggie Bullock after being traded by the Dallas Mavericks earlier this month. But should the veteran forward keep his bags packed?

The Spurs are undergoing a youth movement, headlined by Victor Wembanyama, but need veterans able to mentor the younger players. That's what Bullock provides, but there may be better value for him on the trade market.

"Reggie Bullock has an $11 million expiring contract and can still help a lot of teams," HoopsHype said. "Bullock is a valuable 3-and-D guy that playoff-caliber teams could look at."

Because of his earlier trade this offseason, Bullock cannot be traded until Sept. 12, but that is plenty of time before training camp for the 11-year veteran to get situated with a new team.

In 78 games this season with the Mavericks, Bullock averaged 7.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. But, with the departure of Dorian Finney-Smith, Bullock's importance and responsibilities on the defensive end increased, which lessened his impact.

It seems like there needs to be a very specific fit for Bullock in order to be a true contributor for a contender. He fit the Mavs like a glove in their 2022 Conference Finals run, starting 18 postseason games for Dallas. But with Kyrie Irving in and Finney-Smith out, Bullock's offensive prowess wasn't needed as much.

If a team is interested in trading for him before the season starts, the Spurs at the very least should listen to the phone call.
