San Antonio Spurs Victor Wembanyama on Injury Report for 1st Time, Questionable vs. Atlanta Hawks

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is on the injury report against the Atlanta Hawks.

For the first time in his NBA career, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is on the injury report.

After playing in all 17 games so far this season, Wembanyama is officially questionable to play in Thursday night's game against Atlanta Hawks at Frost Bank Center due to right hip tightness.

This season, Wembanyama is averaging 19.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.3 steals, all of which are team-best marks. Though he appears to be on the positive side of playing, his potential absence for the first time in his career would certainly put a damper on the Spurs' hopes of ending the losing streak.

Here's San Antonio's full injury report:

  • C Victor Wembanyama (Questionable, right hip tightness)
  • F Jeremy Sochan (Probable, left knee soreness)
  • G Sir'Jabari Rice (OUT, G League)
  • F Charles Bediako (OUT, G League)

Things certainly haven't been easy for Wembanyama and the Spurs, as they'll look to end a 12-game losing streak against the Hawks.

Answering the media amid all the losing can be tough for a rookie like Wembanyama, who continues to have an eternal spotlight focused on him. But he's taking everything in stride and has hardly looked fazed by the gut-punch that this season has brought the Spurs thus far.

“We have a very healthy locker room [and] healthy [relationships] with each other," Wembanyama said following the 120-108 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Nov. 18. "[That] is not an issue at all. When we're losing, we’re losing together."

The Spurs and Hawks tip-off from Frost Bank Center at 7 p.m. CT.
