Spurs' Sochan Says Him And Wembanyama Will Be ‘Scary’

San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan says that he and rookie Victor Wembanyama will be a "scary" duo.

San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan declared that he and rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama will be "scary" this upcoming NBA season.

"I think it’s going to be scary," Sochan told For The Win. "Defensively, it’s going to be hard to score against us. We are long. We’re pesky."

Sochan was drafted by the Spurs with the No. 9 overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The 20-year old forward averaged 11.0 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists per game in his first season, good enough to make All-Rookie second team.

Now, he will be joined by the 7-4 French phenom Wembanyama, who San Antonio drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He previously played for the Metropolitans 92, where he averaged 21.6 PPG, 10.4 RPG and 2.4 APG.

When he entered the draft, many compared him to generational prospects like Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson, and he even was called the best prospect since LeBron James by some.

"Offensively, I’m going to be able to find him, and I think the beautiful thing about it is whoever gets the board, just push it," Sochan said. "Offensively, I’m going to be able to find him, and I think the beautiful thing about it is whoever gets the board, just push it."

Wembanyama, Sochan and the Spurs will play next when the preseason begins on Oct. 9 on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
